I would recommend looking at your insurance. What does your health insurance cover? Don't assume that you have maternity benefits. Some health insurance doesn't. Does your workplace offer paid maternity leave? If not, do you have short term disability insurance? Does it cover maternity leave? If not, you'll probably want to get some that does. I thought I had STD insurance through work. When I got pregnant, I found out I didn't.
