How is a raven like a writing desk?

I've been reading the baby Edgar Allen Poe because it's some of the only literature that I prefer to read aloud. I just love the rhythm of some of his poems, and of course the content is gruesome and fantastic. I figure you can read a baby anything as long as you use a soothing tone. The only problem is that it's really hard to read some of Poe's stuff in a soothing tone. As you go through The Raven, the guy's getting more and more agitated and hysterical making it hard to read it any other way. I'd read Where the Wild Things Are, but it's bound to lose some impact without the pictures. I guess it's time to have Matthew start on The Godfather.
